How does it work?
A thermal imaging camera senses differences in temperature. Moisture intrusion is often characterised by a local difference in temperature, as water has a high thermal mass, and often changes its temperature at a slower rate than surrounding construction materials.
Many if not MOST moisture intrusions are invisible to the naked eye. A small, slow leak may go unnoticed for quite some time. By using a thermal imaging camera in combination with a moisture meter, one can often find these otherwise "invisible" deficiencies.
